THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS WITH SCREWTAPE PROPOSES A TOAST by C.S. Lewis

C.S. Lewis -- one of the greatest apologists of our times and a remarkable writer -- not a trained theologian but, as Hans Urs von Balthasar claims, one of the greatest theologian voices of our own times!  He writes for ordinary folk. But with what insight and flashes of truth! Maybe his Screwtape Letters is his very best work -- theologically  orthodox and spiritually enlightening and discomforting as well.  And one of Lewis' gifts is to use humor to bring home the uncomfortable truth!  These letters from Screwtape give us a glimpse of the warfare we're engaged in and the ploys used by the Evil One to take away the joy of our salvation and the assurances of our faith, and how the Evil One knows our weaknesses and vulnerabilities.
